Aurora Group Inc (5500 Interstate North Parkway Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30328, 770-541-7462) is a Cydcor ICL (Independently owned Corporate Licensee). Cydcor affiliates advertise entry-level jobs and management training, but in reality they are recruiting for door-to-door commission sales people. Cydcor affiliates use the term "face to face" instead of door-to-door.
If the job ad for entry-level training for sales, marketing, management "sounds too good to be true", be cautious and ask lots of questions during the job interview. Is the job door-to-door sales, commission only, and with no benefits? Outside sales require driving which means gasoline expense. Are you sure you really want to work on commission pay driving possibly hundreds of miles a week with no mileage reimbursement?
Ask about the all-day second "interview."

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has followed up on this-- did anyone have an interview and ask those questions? What was the response? Where was the information found in the first place?
ReplyDeleteMy experience with AG:
ReplyDeleteJust a note to "help" anyone looking for work in Atlanta. I interviewed with AG and indeed asked many questions. This is a "go out on your own and make us some sales" position. They do NOT supply you with any leads and you are NOT paid anything unless you can produce sales. Those of us who have worked sales (I certainly have) know what this is like. The product/service AG offers isn't good enough to make a career off of selling. This is the reason their office is a "revolving door" of young college graduates who don't know any better. Stupidity is a "quality" they look for in employees, ha, because you'd have to be to work there.
I Have and interview in a few hours actually because I don't trust sales marketing company. I was almost scamed with a company called Primerica and they didn't work for me. I guess Ill just stick to known jobs.
ReplyDeleteWhen I interviewed w AG they were super nice and answered all my questions. I was personally looking for sales and understand that you need to produce to get paid. Duh! They are very professional and are very nice and welcoming. I'm not sure what experience everyone else is having but I had a GREAT exp w AG.
ReplyDeleteAfter posting my resume on career builder I was contacted by a young lady named Kaite for an interview for the position of Account Manager by AG, inc. I have the interview this morning at 10:30 I will post my results afterward.
ReplyDeleteuodate. I had the interview earlier today, and its exactly how he said above. Yes there were nice and full of smiles but the job they want yiu to do is no different.
ReplyDeleteI received a phone call from AG group and pushed for them to give me an answer as to what the base salary would definitely be before I would come in and interview. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes while Katie talked to the HR manager, Katie said that during training it would be around $250 a week, then once out of training they may considering moving the base salary forward. Motivated sellers and managers can add on that base to make it around $450 a week. REALLY? $13,000 to $24,000 A YEAR? DO THE MATH PEOPLE. You can't live on that.
ReplyDeleteSandy, you forgot to mention that the training/base pay you mention above is just that. You didn't include commissions and bonuses, so your numbers are actually off. I just feel like people should actually go in and form their own opinion instead of reading others and letting someone you don't know, potentially make a career decision for you. I did go in an interview and I also addressed this blog and comments with them and they were very honest with me. I went through their whole interview process and I definitely give them props for what they do. It is not an easy job and it's not for everybody, but it doesn't make it not legit or a "scam".
ReplyDeleteI partially agree with your comment, if you're young and have a lot of time in your hand with no job experience, it is a good place to start. But one cannot ignore at minimum they're deceitful.
Deletei agree with sarah
ReplyDeleteprobably not a good job for someone without a car then huh
ReplyDeleteDerek is lying. It is door-to-door, but they provide leads and a lot of support with the sales position. You do work your way up to managing your own office if you do well. It is based on a base salary and then commission, so you can live on it, but it's not incredible money. When you have your own office (accomplished in a few years), however, it's decent money. It actually seemed like a good experience overall. It's just whether it's good for you personally. I don't know about gas reimbursement, but they seemed sensible enough.
ReplyDeleteDoor to Door sales is extremely hard. When the recession hit and I fell upon hard times I had to do it. Some days you don't eat, and others you just make your rent/bills. This is a job not a career. You would have to be desperate to put yourself through this. I was the best sales person in my team and still barely scraped by.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a joke. To all prospective job seekers this is what you should know about AG. The 2- 8 schedule they tell you at the interview is actually 11:00 to 9:00 and it is not Monday- Friday, it is Monday-Saturday, Saturday is 10 to 6 and yes they do not pay minimum wage for the training, they pay $250 for the week. something else they conceal from you, if you work less than 15 days, they will not pay you, then they will refer you to page 15 to your surprise. FYI, they have done it in the past and get away with it, in fact, I had to call the US DPT of Labor to get half of my wage. Apply only if you have a long term goal, otherwise it is a waste of time and money. It is a friendly environment of course but, we don't go to work to make friend, those friendly guys are the same one stealing your commission, watch out for Ga. and Ke. You have been warned!
ReplyDeleteThis is a simple MLM company ran by Cydcor (look them up first, it is the Mother Ship) You get hired like its a privilege, BUT they hire ANYBODY. Sorry, you are not special. The more feet on the street, the more sales the company gets. So here is the low down, ITS BS! You are brain washed with "team nights" and "promotions" that don't increase your pay!!! How is that a promotion? They dangle a carrot in front of you to keep you pushing and selling. ASK THIS QUESTIONS...."Out of the 20 people hired a week, how many "managers" have been promoted out of your office and what are the names and names of their offices?" Watch the reaction to that!! They do not pay base salary plus commissions, this a a turn over business, they don't get paid unlesss they submit sales to clients. Oh, and the fraud!!! The charities they talk about raising money for are the very same ones they scam as a client. Look, just do your research, ask your questions, like AG connection to cydcor,if it is all they say it is they should be proud to tell you, not try to cover it up? right?
ReplyDeleteSo I read this entire blog before I went in for my interview and I must say I'm glad I went in. The people are very nice, professional people who are very passionate about what the do. They answered every single question I had and even addressed the questions I had from this blog. Just to address some of the previous comments: I asked if they were affiliated with Cydcor and yes...that is their client broker. They handle getting them clients, but Cydcor is a completely different business. How Cydcor operates has nothing to do with Aurora. As far as the "team nights"..I went to one and had a blast. They just want to get to know each other outside of the business too. We work together a lot so why not. This is a management training program, so after the sales portion there is a promotion to assistant manager where there is a pay increase. I guess I just wish people would take the time to actually meet with them instead of going off what other people write. This isn't for everyone, but can be great for some. I will say they do not micro manage you, so you have to have the discipline to actually work or you will fail.
ReplyDeleteFisher, you wrote "We work together a lot", so are you now working for Aurora Group? If you are working for Aurora Group, are you happing with the door-to-door sales, commission pay and driving using your own car?
ReplyDeleteI am completely happy (I'm assuming that's what you meant with "happing") with Aurora Group. I'm fine meeting with people at their home. I'm fine working a position where commission is involved b/c I don't have a cap on what I can bring home and I'm not afraid to work hard. I use my car on average 2 times a week. The times I do use it, its a tax write off.
