DMA Portland/D.M.A. Solutions, Inc (Tigard, OR)

Cydcor affiliates advertise entry-level jobs and management training, but in reality they are recruiting for door-to-door commission sales people. Cydcor affiliates use the term "face to face" instead of door-to-door.

If the job ad for entry-level training for sales, marketing, management "sounds too good to be true", be cautious and ask lots of questions during the job interview. Is the job door-to-door sales, commission only, and with no benefits?  Will you be an employee or a contractor? Outside sales require driving which means gasoline expense. Are you sure you really want to work on commission pay driving possibly hundreds of miles a week?

What does D.M.A. stand for? Direct Marketing Associates? This company changed their name from D.M.A. Oregon to D.M.A. Portland.

Many Cydcor affiliates will name/rename their company names to three letters with no explanation of the company name on their websites or facebook pages.

Note: 10300 Greenburg Road is technically in the city of Tigard, Oregon not Portland. Tigard is a suburb in the Portland metropolitan area. According to Google (distance from Portland OR to Tigard OR), there is 10 miles between the two cities.

Update: April 2013
DMA Portland's "parent" company (10 Bellevue, Inc formerly 10, Inc) has apparently changed its name to TBI.

Update: November 2012
Blog readers who have been invited to DMA interviews were asked to go a different address than the DMA office listed on the company website and facebook page. DMA job applicants were invited to go to 970 SW Shady Ln Suite 101, Tigard, OR 97233. Does DMA Portland really have two offices in the same city? Why is DMA paying rent for two offices in Tigard? Why have they started to invite prospective employees to a different address for interviews?

DMA is associated with 10, Inc (Bellevue, WA).

  1. I just went to one of these interviews today. I had a feeling it was a scam because THEY emailed me telling me about the job, an entry-level position...what company does that? The website was very vague, and they used the term "face to face" as well. Don't think I will be going back.

    ReplyDelete
  2. same!!! i was "selected to compete" in a second group interveiw for an entry level job of face to face marketing. there was a brief introduction and no mention of benifits, hours, salary or a concrete position in the "company". dont think ill respond again to one of those 'interview invitations'

    ReplyDelete
  3. Also, if you look at their website, there is nothing geared toward any type of customer or client to the company. Why would they not market to their customer? Why is their entire website directed at potential "management trainees"?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I received a call from their HR contact "Carrie" and I got a description of an Entry Level Account "Executive' that she thought I would fit based off of my Careerbuilder resume. I then, post call, received an email somewhat describing what they're looking for. Position specified in the email was Entry Level Account "Manager". It briefly described the qualities of a typical account manager. After reading this scam blog however, I decided to call them right back to have these newly presented questions answered. Long story short, much like their way of saying Marketing, they were hesitant to say it was face to face, then when I said, so it's door to door marketing, they were again hesitant to confirm. As if they new they were going to lose me right there. Long story short, my first conversation with them seemed as a facade, giving me minimal information and rewording things to make them sound more appealing and less informational as to what the position was really about. I asked all the questions that are listed above on this blog and more. I didn't get the answers I wanted to hear. Yes, I would be paying for my own gas, no i don't get benefits. BUT, she was happy to say that I would be able to get reimbursed and get benefits after I'm promoted to the Entry Level Account Executive position. Which by the way was said to take around a YEAR TO GET TO! Now, If I won't get the advertised position of Entry Level Account Manager for a whole year or more, then they're really advertising for a door to door sales person. They're advertising a false position. I myself think that all of this misleading information is complete bull####. I told her I'm no longer interested. I'm pretty sure she was butt hurt.

  5. I had an interview with D.M.A. today at their new location at:
    10300 SW Greenburg Rd
    Ste. 190
    Portland, OR 97223

I'm no business professional and, as I'm currently unemployed, was excited to get my foot in the door for any career opportunity. So I drove out to the interview from SE Portland and when I arrived almost ten minutes late for my interview, nothing was mentioned about my tardiness.

From beginning to end, the interview was scripted and rehearsed. This made me uncomfortable so that I stammered and stuttered my way through the interview. All the while the interviewer (Jason) pretended to scribble notes on my resume.

So I was really surprised at the end of the interview when Jason, told me how strong of an interview I was and that he would like me to return for a second interview tomorrow at 10am.

Thankfully, I shared the initial interview email with my father and he did more research than I did. This is one of the most terrifying:
A woman is left stranded in Vancouver when she refuses to solicit coupons door-to-door, after being told to leave her cellphone at the office.

  6. Thank you so much for this blog! I got the exact same email from an HR person named Dani. When I first googled them a different DMA came up, and it is a real marketing firm. Thankfully, my dad told me to google that company and see what was being said about them. After doing this I found your blog and that I was looking at the wrong website. I just cancelled my interview at their new location on Greenburg Road. Thanks again!

  7. this saved me a lot of time and gas thank you for the posting i got a phone call to set up an interview at

    10300 sw greenburg rd sweet 190. 97223

complete scam the hr person i spoke to was very indirect and wouldn't admit that the job i was applying for was door to door.

they wanted to set up my interview with jason that was earlier mentioned.
    the phone number was (503)841-6942.

someone needs to stop this company from getting peoples hopes up with incorrect job postings.

  8. Same Here..
The girl Dani was way too nice to be a real HR Director and was trying really hard to make small talk and sound friendly.

When I started asking about the job, she didn't give me a good explanation and said its all in the e-mail. The email is generic and doesn't describe anything.

She was trying really hard to just get me to come in for an interview. Waste of time...

  9. Thanks guys!I was actually thinking of applying for their opening, but after reading all these blogs!Don't think I am going even visit their website again!

  10. I had a funny feeling about this one...glad to find this blog. The really icky thing about these kinda scams is how much it waste the time of honest hard working people who are looking for work in this tuff economy. Shameful!!

  11. I received the the same phone call and e-mail. I don't believe I will be going to my scheduled appointment. This company sounds like a scam to me!

  12. Wow, I had a feeling this was a scam. I got a call today for an interview, and I just was put off a little by how eager the woman on the phone appeared to be.

I don't even plan on giving them the time to cancel my interview. I just won't show up.

  13. hahaha I am doing the same exact thing!!!!

  14. Its a merit based system, you all just dont understand the process, yese door to door sales is what it is but it is also to get you out to running your own office, none of you will ever become business owners, I can tell by how you think of things

  15. i have an interview at this place today at 3. if this is just a place to steal my info i'm going to call the police on them

  16. okcboi---spoken like a true employee of theirs. This is a shameful, rotton scam. You DMA people should worry about an afterlife.

  17. marvin--- you just mad cause u dont have thick enough skin to do door to door sales, u will never run ur own business, have fun working under someone else. And getting laid off

    1. Get out of here. Be a slime ball elsewhere. It's not that some of us "Don't have thick skin", it's the fact that we would be ashamed to do YOUR JOB. Maybe we prefer not to be hated by the community. Also, I hope you don't sell by typing, because your spelling is terrible.

  18. I just want to clear some misconceptions from this blog by saying that I have worked for DMA Solutions and regret that decision to this day. You are told that you will be prepared to run your own office. Unfortunately the skills you learn are extremely limited in regards to business and in my opinion you will ultimately be less prepared. There is nothing wrong with hard work to achieve the level of success you want in life (door to door sales), it is the system and brainwashing that is deeply flawed. You will only learn "below industry standard" HR techniques and gain sales experience.

Lets put on the entrepreneur hat and do some comparisons.

No experience required! You find this quote with companies like Avon, Cutco knifes, and other independent sales jobs that require either a start-up fee or initial investment in the product.

DMA sells CenturyLink (CL) internet! (CL) bought all Qwest fiber optics, including the problems and horrible customer service. You are told that you are following recent construction when really your lead sheets are left to "rest" for 6 months. The internet speeds depend on location and more than likely you will be trying to sell something slower than Comcast. You have seen the deceiving billboards and small print on commercials, there are always hidden fees.

DMA is in Tigard! You will be sent door-to-door in north portland, east portland, vancouver, and lake oswego (largest mormon church in the state). The problem lies in the fact that you do not get compensated for transportation expenses such as gasoline, spend 2-3 hours in office (unpaid) and must drive back to Tigard before going home. The commute and long hours can be tedious.

You will not get paid until two weeks after closing your first application start-to-finish. Be prepared to work for free for a while.

The moral is that jobs are not easy to come by at this time, just don't lie to yourself thinking that you will own a "successful" business. In order to own a "successful" business the entrepreneur must understand what is driving their business. This means an implicit set of instincts about what will work in the markets they serve, what they know that the rest of the world does not know.

Sam Bradford won the Heisman Trophy in 2008, a great quarterback. What makes him great? Arm strength, height, all that stuff. But what really makes him a great quarterback is the fact that he scores touchdowns whenever he is inside the 20 yard line. When he was inside the 20 yard line, everybody on his team knew they were going to score a touchdown and everybody on the other team knew he was going to score a touchdown. Is there a formula for the plays he is going to run? Maybe, but the fact of the matter is he just has a feel for the game. He knows, as he is backing into the pocket, which receiver just broke loose and he will hit that guy.

DMA Solutions is a link in the chain of Cydcor, the modern day marketing firm version, of a pyramid scheme.

  19. Thank you for this information. I have an interview set up for today, and was about to take the bus for two hours to get there in the pouring rain. Thankfully, my Dad spotted this blog and sent me the link. I will not be wasting my time. Not only do I abhor companies like DMA, but I have the education and experience required to actually get a good job! If it's okay, I'd like to Facebook this post, and hopefully we can reach more people BEFORE they waste their time on a scam.

  20. I had a problem when I talked to them. I have interviews all week and my only open day was Wendsday and they made it sound like they were wraping things up and had me scedule an interview today when I have a really important interview with a lagitamet company. After reading this blog I called them back and cancelled because I can't afford to waste my time when I could be hired for a better job I'm good at. Thank you all for the information it helped me alot.

  23. If you ever talk to these folks, be aware that A) the opportunity is 100% commission and they will NOT tell you that in the first interview, and B) you generate -your own- leads. Think Avon here, folks.

  24. My daughter has fallen for this job and is working her butt off for them. 6- 12hr days and she is only 19! They put her by her in bad neighborhoods all the time. They told her if she makes more money she can have a partner. I've been trying to convince her to find a better job for a while now, but they have brainwashed her so much she keeps saying, I just need to work harder. She is so buried out that she got in a major car crash and totaled her car most likly from being so tired.

  25. Wow I wish I would have seen this earlier. DMA is still out there tryin gto recruit people. I just received a call from them and I googled the number and I found this blog. This is a total scam and it is really sad that they are doing this when people really need to find a real job. Thank you for having this blog out there to warn people.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sadly enough, I can't believe I didn't do any research on this place. I had gotten a phone call from the number but being that I'm looking for a job right now, I wasn't to focused on what the place was called and didn't think to ask.

I had gone to the interview and it seem so weird and I didn't like it one bit. Now that I know it is a scam, I know my fiance won't go to the same place, since today he had gotten a phone call from "Dani".

Thank you all so much for this input. I'm glad my fiance found this site and showed me it.

  29. I just got a call from Dani about an hour ago and set up an interview for tomorrow. Ive never felt so eerie about an interview before but this one for some reason sounded too good to be true. I asked if it was in sales and she said yes but not direct sales. She also said it was for Century Link so to check if it was real or not I looked up to make sure I had to correct address which is the one 10300 Greenburg Road. Well there is no century link there. So I typed in the phone number they called with and got this site! Thank goodness. I am NOT going to it. And im not even going to waste my time to call them back and tell them I am canceling. If they are scamming people then they dont deserve for me to be respectful and cancel my appt.

  30. I just received a call from Carrie 503-841-6942. Very perky young sounding woman. I signed up for careerbuilder.com yesterday and posted my resume. Needless to say I was super excited to be getting a call about a job as I am unemployeed. I wanted to be informed on the job I applied for as I have applied for many and do not remember this one. After reading this blog, everything is just as described. Interview with Jason, tomorrow at 2:45 at the 10300 SW Greenburg RD, Tigard, OR 97223 Suite 190 location. Entry Level Account Manager for Century Link. She was in a hurry to get off the phone and was hesitant to give information. I asked about the position and that was all she told me along with an okay have a nice day see you tomorrow. I will not be attending the interview, not worth wasting my gas to find out that all is not what it seems.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Same here. I talked to Dani and my interview is set for 2:30 tomorrow. I've been applying for job after job since I graduated from college last month and I was excited when I got the call, as it's the only response I've received from anyone. I was suspicious when I saw how employee focused their website was - full of information about how great it is to work for them but nothing really from a consumer standpoint. I'm not terribly surprised that this company is a scam, but I am disappointed.

I won't even bother attending the interview now.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If it wasn't for this information, I would've been so frustrated to have attended this interview that this "Dani" character had me set up for tomorrow. I do not need anymore disappointments. Thanks to everyone who took the time to post these comments. Much appreciated...

  35. I actually went through with the interview because I didn't know any better. The whole thing seemed very eerie to me, the original email I received was from a Michael Bowen CEO of Farmers Insurance, when I replied to the email I got a call from Dani of DMA Portland, wanting to schedule me for an interview for an Entry Level Finanace position dealing with Century Link. She seemed far too eager to please and was not your typical receptionist, she actually texted me the address of the interview off of her personal cell phone which I found to be very bizarre. I arrive at the interview and meet with Jason, who was not your typical CEO, he was very relaxed, and kept jotting notes on my application that just looked like scribbles in a square box. He never actually went into detail about the position just kept asking me questions to see if I would be willing to be trained in certain areas, like communicating, presenting, and management skills. I would try and get him to go into more detail about the actual position and the subject would immediately get changed as if he was avoiding the topic, very suspicious.

I did get selected to come back for a second interview, and I found it odd that he schedule it over 48 hours in advance. Needless to say I will not be going back for this interview, in fact, when I called to cancel all they said was "OK" and hung up the phone.

  36. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Was about to sacrifice making some money tomorrow for just a one day job, so I could go to my interview for "Century Link Account Manager" with Dani at DMA and went to brush up on my company knowledge only to find this Blog! I sincerely appreciate al of your comments so I don't have to waste my time or money. This economy is really tough right now, but I will never be this desperate. 37. I understand that there are people that are a part of mankind that have a few skrews loose and end up raping or killing someone or something along the lines of that. But this D.m.a. company is nothing but athe Preston and finest example of the devils advocate if you ask me. That b@$+@rd Jason staring me straight in the eyes showing not a sliver of remorse or anything that any normal human being shows when the do something they cannot deny is immoral. I talked about my desperate desire to self suffeinctlu provide for my 1 year old the things I never had that are essential for a healthy life. When and where did our race begin breeding these imposters if human beings. If we seriously have people like Jason and Daniel who looked at me with such a mischeivious "I know somethhing you don't know!" Smile that was never wiped off her face as I sat there and willingly gave up my information that's key to my identity and the feeling of shamefulness and horror and disappointment is unbelievable. Thinking about myself when I first started working at 13 and how I would've fallen for this then if I did today. God knows what other unspeakable acts they can be capable of if a naive helpless child falls for this. Like the mother of the 19 ye old brainwashed young woman. I can't imagine the pain you feel everyday she's putting any sliver of precious energy in the name of the benefit of this company. This company must be exterminated before things get too bad. In hard times like the ones we r in there's too many innocent people for something like this to be going on as long as it is. What's really going on I wonder. Thank you for doing your part in the world and spearding dharma to fellow mankind. You all and I are what it truly means to be a human being. Not slime that takes form of a human being. Shameful disappointing. And quite frankly pityful. And they hardly deserve the rise of me that they are getting. I never let things liked this get to me....but the rest of the unknowing world deserves to know the truth far more than anything so therefore my energy will not be in vein. And so another innocent informed and saved. Dharma. Dharma.
Okay ill close my public showing of anger and ventilation thanks for those you read all I wrote whether they agreed or not. My efforts were at least noticed.

  38. I didn't know any better myself so I went through all these drug test and stuff. They said I was hired but now after reading all these. it seemed like i don't even want to go in anymore nor call them and said i quite. Thank you all for your support. I sure did have a danny or dani call me too. And while I was taking a test I over heard her say the EXACT SAME THING TO ME TO THE OTHER PERSON. "OH HI WHAT'S YOUR NAME, WELL THATS GREAT WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE." bla bla bla. Goodness. I am glad I found this site. thanks you guys!

  39. This place is total BS. "Jason" interviewed me, completely railroaded me and didn't let me talk for more than a few sentences the whole interview, and then at the end, he said that I reminded him of himself and that he "normally doesn't do this" but he wanted me back the next morning to do job training (he never told me what job i was hired for). When I said that I couldn't come (because I had to work) he threatened to give the job to someone else if I didn't make it happen. I told him that I could do 1pm, and he said that I had to call "Dani" by 5pm that day to set up stuff. I went home feeling pushed around and bullied, went to research the company, found this blog and called to cancel. I felt violated that they would try to push me into a mystery job. I felt embarrassed for Dani, the girl upfront, because I'd be so ashamed to work for a company like this.

  40. The 503-477-9094 number is active, I attest to that. Got a call from them today, the lady Dani left a voicemail, so I had to call her back, never caught that she said she was with DMA, was very garbled on the message, but now that does sound like it would have fit that name. Wants an interview tomorrow, and was planning on going, but after this, no way. Still in suite 190 on Greenburg, too.
Entry level account something or other, moving up to management in a year. Sounded too good to be true, right? So I'm on google, trying to find where this is, making sure it's a legit place, and I find this blog! Definitely not going. Thank goodness for this place.
Sadly, I've already fell for another of these tricks, American Income. They tell you "American Income" on the phone, but they leave out the "Insurance" part. I failed the interview because I don't drive.
MIND YOU, they don't tell you on the phone when they want you to come in that you need to drive?!?! What a waste of time? I honestly am sad for the people that were still in the A.I.I. office after my interview, for the next rounds they were going to....they will/are disappointed, I'm sure.
Thank you so much for this information. Saves me a wasted afternoon. And hopefully, everyone else who hears from these creeps will google the address as well, and find this site! THANK GOODNESS it's the first listing after the map!

  41. Sadly I fell for the trick of dani and Jason. I found it interesting that Jason was more interested in speaking about his military career and this weekend in Vegas with his girlfriend. Then what the actual job was. In the second interview he allowed me to speak more, I have worked hard for my degree and am looking for a position that would work into management. I was excited, to excited to see the warning signs.
I was prepared to quit my full time job with benefits until I realized it was a complete scam!!!!! Thank you to all the bloggers!

  42. Ashley, the readers of this blog would love to know whether your second "interview" included following a trainer/senior account rep for 2-6 hours going door-to-door trying to sell Centurylink telecom services. If you did the 1/2-day or all-day "interview", how was your experience? Were you wearing high heels as most women wear to job interviews?

Do not quit a full-time job with benefits (medical, dental, and vision) and vacation/paid-time-off for a 100% commission job or small base salary plus commission unless you are very comfortable with the new compensation structure and you think you can make good money with the new job. Can you live without the current company benefits (medical, dental, vision)? Do you have money saved for fuel expenses driving to sell products/services?

  43. I'm supposed to have an interview and always do a bit of research beforehand. The craigslist posting seemed vague and when you only have to paste your resume in to a field, well it seemed a bit off and I definitely questioned it.
Website is a bit obnoxious and can't imagine companies wanting to do business with the music that is playing.

Address given to me is 9780 SW Shady Ln, Tigard, OR 97223 Ste 101
Dani set up the interview and texted me the address in which who texts an address for an interview?
Number came from 971-266-01** (don't want to post the entirety as it could be her personal #)
Keep searching till the right job comes along!

    1. FYI, to readers/job seekers who do not want to waste travel time and transportation costs.

Note: 10300 Greenburg Road is technically in the city of Tigard, Oregon not Portland. Tigard is a suburb in the Portland metropolitan area. According to Google (distance from Portland OR to Tigard OR), there is 10 miles between the two cities.

Blog readers who have been invited to DMA interviews were asked to go a different address than the DMA office (10300 SW Greenburg Rd) listed on the company website (Portland) and facebook (Tigard) page.

To readers of this blog in the Portland metropolitan area and you happen to be in the city of Tigard, we would love to know what you find out if you can visit both DMA office locations? Did DMA move from Greenburg Road to Shady Lane in Tigard? If they did move, why did they move?

If you do go interview, ask what is DMA? Direct Marketing Associates? DMA's company website and facebook page does not elaborate. DMA's website domain changed from dmaoregon.com to dmaportland.com.

  44. Wow, glad I caught this as well. Seems like my experience was the same as other above. I'm unemployed and in need of a job; this sounded great. But luckily for me I have a wonderful mother who keeps me safe. Told her about it and up pops this blog. I trust my mothers gut and she said she didnt like it. I found this on craigslist and the "application" was too simple--should of thought of it then. I spoke with Dani, at 9780 SW Shady Ln Tigard, OR 97233 the phone number was 971-245-6843. Needless to say, I will be calling and cancelling my interview!!!!

  46. So.... I went for 1rst/2nd interview, went to two days of training THEN read this! Dani called me first, interviewed with Jason, then interviewed with Conner. I asked if I would be doing cold calling/door-to-door sales. Conner had said "no, clients that were already interested." I felt ify about it the whole time. When you sign papers, they make you sign them quick. Yes, Jason talks about Vegas with his girl and military everything. I want to go back and give them a chance, but I know I will make no money in sales. They keep saying over and over that they are not training us for sales, that they are training us to be managers. Gah, I just want the truth!!!

  47. Wow, I am glad I found this website as this is definitely not the type of job I am looking for...I've done commission only jobs at legitimate companies and figured out that wasn't for me.
I got my phone call today from Dani and it seemed out of the blue but I had just sent some resumes out yesterday and didn't quite hear the name of the company. I also was told to go to the 9780 SW Shady Ln address in Tigard...I won't be going to the interview and plan to call them back and tell them as soon as I get this sleeping kitty off of me

  48. OMG, OMG, OMG!!!! Thank you to whomever started this blog. I received a call from "Dani" earlier today (btw, she called from #971.245.6843) to schedule a 10am interview tomorrow. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I did my research on this so called "DMA" company because I happened to stumble across this link and boy did it certainly open up my eyes. I'm in shock to be quite honest. I can't believe people would waste other folks time like this and give them false hopes because at the end of the day, THIS IS A SCAM!!!! I'm canceling my appointment first thing tomorrow morning. Oh yea, here's the address I'm suppose to go to tomorrow - 9780 SW Shady Lane (street name couldn't be more perfect) Tigard, OR 97223, Suite 101. One more thing, "Dani" also sent me the address via text (I was driving at the time when Dani and I were scheduling my interview) and after I got off the phone, I'll be honest, it was kinda creepy. And now this blog.....oh my! Thank goodness I am how I am and do my research.

  50. why do they have you take a ua and an ethics certifcation course and tell you it will be door to door to residential areas and they do background checks why if it was a scam would they have someone do all that

  51. Ive applyed for a few entry jobs on craiglist. One day dma dani called me and left a voice message saying she saw my resume and would like to schedule an interview with me. I never applied for DMA! I never sent them a resume. Im so glad i looked up this company before calling them!

  52. Still a scam. Hilariously, they claim to be listed in '101 best and brightest companies to work for.' That's a real thing, even though it seems to have no credibility, some site where you can nominate any company. But they're not even listed as one of those companies for 2011 or 2012. Just a flat-out lie. I was invited to an interview, but I won't be showing up. New number:

    506-372-5187

  53. Screwed up above number:

    503-372-5187 is what they're using.

  54. Just got off the phone with "Dani" after scheduling an interview for Monday. The address gave was 9780 SW Shady Ln Suite 200, 97223 phone number: 503-372-5187. She told me it would be for CenturyLink.

Glad I found this blog, no way in hell do I want to spend over 90 minutes commuting for door to door crap. I'd rather be homeless.

    1. Same here. I received my call today. Thanks for the info everyone. It pays to check out a company first, and be able to find this information before heading over an hour away for an interview that isn't worth it.

  55. I knew something was fishy when they called me to schedule my interview. She glossed over the word "sales" very quickly and added other words in one breath, exciting words like "executive" and "management." I told her that I was not interested in the position, stating that I was not looking for a sales job. I knew it was a scam when she kept pressing me to schedule the interview, until I gave up and let her schedule it, although I have no intention of going. A company worth working for would not waste their own time when somebody says that they are not interested in the position. I have been offered a job that I did not want in the past, and the employer did not try to pressure me into taking the job anyway -- they just thanked me for my time and hung up the phone. Does anybody else think it's funny that one of the interview locations is on Shady Lane? I almost laughed on the phone while writing down the address. This business and its practices does indeed seem shady.

  56. I just received a call from this company (Dani) to set up an interview. Entry level management, full time on Shady Lane also. 9780 Shady Lane Portland 97223 Suite 200. She called from 503-372-5187 DMA Solutions Beaverton OR
Thank you to who started this blog. As I do not have the energy or the money to waste on fake interviews. Thanks for your information.

WELL I AM SHOCKED! why cant you people have a little fun with this company I have a interview with this company and this guy will not dominate the conversation I will not let him off the hook and before I leave he will have to admit to me that there was never a real mgmt position to train for and I will get him to apologize for waisting my time I bet I can even get him to pay for transportation I am 51 dont need a job and dont care about what he thinks plus the only suits i have are very expensive he will feel very stupid for inviting me to a fake interview

  62. I just called D M A and I got dani on the phone a person named mary ann is who called me friday for the interview when I asked her to explain exactly what the job was she tried to evade the question but i did get her to admit it IS door to door sales.
I would like to explain to all who read this optic fiber never turned out to be the great next thing like everyone thought it would be! cell phones killed it regular phone lines are all ready in place and so is cable plus you have companys like clearwire who offer internet for half the price of so called hi speed internet comcast, directv, centurylink, dish all offer internet as a bundle option but that is when your bill gets crammed with extra charges and for some reason they let them do it so you have to call every month to get it corrected! DONT GET BUNDLED! anyone who has done this knows better now or they just pay it and they are stupid the point is fiber optic really is only for banks as it is more secure selling it door to door is just a way to recover some of the expense QUEST spent on it before cell phones killed it. centurylink bought that debt when they purchased quest I am sure once they exhaust every other possibility they will have to admit they cant provide that service and replace it with something else and there wont be any of those jobs for these people who worked so hard to get a mgmt position.

  63. you know what we really need! is a law that stops companys from doing this bait and switch tactics I have seen this before and it never last but who knows what harm they do in the time they are in business. like the poor girl who wrecked her car while she was working for these guys i bet she doesnt even know this company is responsible for her loss as she would not have been driving at that time of day at that part of the city when she wrecked her car any good lawyer could win that case!

  64. So I went through this same thing. Unfortunately I was just like the above person who had already gotten scammed by American Income Life a couple weeks ago with the exact same situation. Initially I got a call from Briane to set up the interview and went to the first two, one was with Jason and the next day was a 30/45 minute one with Connor. Jason did the same thing where he told me he doesn't usually do this but he's going to invite me back right away because I seemed like such a great fit and Connor said the same thing about how I must have done really well to get past all those people who were applying. It's sad to think about how many people were in the office with me to interview. I hope all of them find out about this blog. Thank you again for posting this. The number they used to call me was 503-372-5187 and they are still at the Shady Lane office. I definitely will not be going back for the "ethics test" and drug test. I guess because of the job market us unemployed really are insanely easy prey for people like D.M.A. and American Insurance Life. Depressing.

  65. I had an interview with Jason today. He talked at me for seven minuets as he drew squares on my application. When I tried to speak he would get annoyed and cut me off. He did not bother to print out a copy of my resume but he was sure to tell me I could be a manager. He also kept referencing his upcoming business trip to Sacramento that evening. He in no way said door to door or commission, he did say face to face executive account representative and earnings based on merit. The hours were Mon-Friday 11am-8pm and Sat. 11am-6pm. At the end of his sweaty interview he told me to come back the next day to meet with a Century Link executive. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the old beat down office building was that it smelled like old sewage (poop) now I know it is because of all the shit coming out of that Jason's guy's mouth. I declined the second interview.

  67. So I just went to the interview yesterday morning. I had an idea that this was "too good to be true" because it sounded similar to the Cutco Knife scam. So, I decided to perform a little experiment. I smoked a couple of joints before my interview and made sure my eyes were nice and red. The reason I chose to do this was: nobody in their right mind would hire someone who came to an interview inebriated, on any level. I was told that the office was "business professional" so I wore a wrinkly button-up and some faded grey pants. I showed up right on time and filled out some paperwork. It was funny seeing them try to act all professional, scattering about the office trying too hard to be funny. It was finally time for my interview with this really, really short fellow. The questions he asked me were on the same level as if I were applying for a hall monitor job in third grade. He wrote some "notes" on my resume that looked like a bunch of scribbles. One thing that threw up a red flag was that I mentioned I play Call of Duty occasionally and he noted that on my resume. Now, I'm not the most "professional" type of person out there but who puts that down on a resume? He gave some bullshit story about how he started out where I did and how he's opening his own "branch" in CA. To be honest I was stoned out of my mind and I'm pretty sure he noticed. I asked about pay and benefits as well as compensation for gas and he just said, "we'll determine that later on". I'm not sure what has to be "determined" in regards to a benefit structure as well as pay. Despite my best efforts to be as unprofessional as possible, he invited me in for a second interview, the next day. This little experiment goes to show that they're not targeting professional people. They're just taking whomever they can get in hopes of making a quick buck.

  68. I just got a call from "Dani" as well. Glad that I always do research on the company so I know more about them before I go into an interview! Glad I did! I will NOT be attending my "interview" with Jason tomorrow!! A president of a company does not do 1st interviews as a common practice anyway! Glad I didn't waste my time!

  69. So it took me awhile to find this blog but man am I glad I did. I got a call today and am supposed to go for an interview early tomorrow for an account manager position for Centurylink. I would much rather do something productive like, I don't know, apply for a real job. Location is still on Shady Ln, suite 200 and the number is still the same as above. It's too bad. I thought I finally got my big break.

  70. It is a real job mind you, but it will last 4-5 months tops, you burn out, they know this which is why they take anybody, it's brainwashing style sales training, high pressure, walking in the rain, cold, snow. All of these independent cable sales company operate a like, they are aweful, they lie, cheat, and steal at every turn which is why they are so evasive. If their company is so fucking great why the need for the secrecy and evasiveness. - Run away, run away

  71. They found me on careerbuilder and wanted me for Account Manager, Carrie the HR manager was super sweet and sounded really young, she stuttered and couldn't answer my questions, she kept talking about Jason and how Jason could answer all my questions and her only job was to arrange out meeting. I asked if "face to face" was the same as "door to door" She assured me it wasn't and was irritated that I asked that. She also assured me there was no driving to be done and then I asked if the job was based on commission and then her whole speech went to shambles, she then had a long pause and then said uhh.. we have a lot of available jobs and some are based on commission and Jason will tell you everything when you talk to him, you just have to meet Jason and he'll answer all your questions. It was exactly like she was trying to force me into the interview. She even told me they were a contract company and worked with centry-link.

  73. I got called today and they attempted to say that I had submitted my resume to them, which I did not. I was roped into agreeing to an interview, but after reading this I've cancelled. I have no interest in scams, door to door sales, or people trying to trick me into anything that will leave me with an empty gas tank and nothing to show for it.
