Exclusive Promotions Inc (Columbus, OH)

Beware of attractive, but possibly deceptive job ads which offer entry-level training in management, marketing, and sales especially if the ads state "no experience required". If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid minimum wage or commission? Are there company benefits? Beware of invitations for an all-day second "interview".

  1. Exclusive Promotions are the guys you see in Wal-Mart, Sams Club, or Best Buy trying to get you to save money on the cable bill. This is a lot of work. If you enjoy a challenge and standing on your feet for more than 10 hours a day, it will be a piece of cake. There's nothing wrong with that unless you aren't making any money. Since we are on MONEY lets go to my next point. You WILL NOT make it off "the draw". The reason, people cancel, and you'll get no money for that and yes it happens a lot. Sure some people impulse and sign the agreement, but good luck getting them installed. More often than not they realize you've only fast-talked them into signing a 2 year contract using nothing other than a clip board and the notion of saving money! I saw first hand how you can sell 12 people in a week and get 3 installed. Total earnings $300.00 12 hour days in the store to make a $300.00 check; No thanks.

Good luck on your job hunt. Remember to keep a level head and, "if it sounds to good to be true, it is".

  2. worked for Exclusive Promotions for 6 months, but due to personal reasons I had to resign. After reading your review I had to post my comment because I cannot relate to your experience. I was hired in entry level and after 1 month I was promoted to a trainer role (which was due to my performance). Which is the key for this role you must be self motivated, have a great attitude and have a great student mentality. I personally was determined to due well so I made sure that those who were already in the company that I hung close to them. I not only signed people up for Direct TV, but they also got installed and I received my money for those installs which was more than the $300 that you listed. So it sounds as though this job was not cut out for you (which I have learned that is not for everyone), but I think that is unfair to classify Exclusive Promotions as a scam. It is very much legit and a great opportunity to eventually own your franchise if you desire.
