AUSTIN, TX – JSR Marketing has defied the odds in this economic market by continuing to grow and prosper in the 1st quarter of 2011. The sports marketing firm started the new year with an expansion from Houston, TX in order to better fit the needs of Austin-based clients and regional sports teams.
jsrmarketing is not affiliated with JSR Associates, a communications and marketing firm that was established in 1991.
ReplyDeleteDoes this job offer steady pay above minimum wage or are earnings entirely based off of commission? When selling these sports/entertainment packages, does the employee have to invest any money into the packages prior to the sale? What is being sold to JSR consumers who, according to the website, receive "affordable ways to enjoy their city?" What exactly is required to be employed by JSR Marketing? An answer to any part of this inquiry is greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI have done my research, and this is what I know. The company is a sister company from Houston. Each are individually owned so the names aren't the same. Entry Level is commission based. After all, it is entry level so it should be. Most are making between 400-600 weekly. After that it is a 3 tier pay scale. How long you are in entry level is based off your work ethic and attitude. People advance as quickly as 2 weeks. There is no investment into the company it is a genuine opportunity. As for experience, you must have great people skills and experience with working with others. Degree isn't required but it does help you get in the door.
ReplyDelete^ Interesting very vague: seems to me like that information was gathered from their websites and job posting. It reveals nothing about what you would actually do for the company. From my interview with the company I was told that I would be selling unused tickets and coupons from their 'partners' (so perhaps the rangers or probably something less desirable) to business. I didn't bother to come to the 'second round interview" aka free day of labor. I read, and talked to several job recruiters, about the sketchiness that is this "second round full day shadowing interview." As interested as I was in doing a full day of driving and sales to small business for free, I reconsidered. Just google "entry-level marketing job scams" and 99% of all the scams are exactly the same as the experience of getting interviewed by JSR (small office with little adornment, the sign for company printed on paper and place and inside of window (unlike the rest of the REAL businesses in the compound with plaque and legit furnishing, I was interviewed by a random outsourced contractor from Dallas- not even the supposed 'Austin Manager') I had to fill out my recent education and other superficial information even though it was already clearly provided in my resume. The interview was fast, extremely superficial and even with asking questions I had a very poor understanding of exactly WHAT I would be doing (would I be going to legitimate bussinesses that could afford Rangers Tickets? Or would my territory by McDonald's and Jack-in-the-Box).
