Prospect Group Inc (Minneapolis, MN)

Prospect Group Inc in Bloomington, MN is some sort of events based marketing company. What does that mean? What do they do? Their client page says they have a division for cosmetics, fashion, health & wellness, gourmet foods, household & automotive industries. Wow! Their About Us page says that they have paid training. I would hope so.

Beware of attractive, but possibly deceptive job ads which offer entry-level training in management, marketing, and sales especially if the ads state no experience required. If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid minimum wage or commission? Are there company benefits?

  1. They sell products at booths in Sam's Club and Costco primarily, as well as set up at small events that happen in parks and the like. They started back in March with 3 clients and 7 people in the company, and since have expanded to 7 clients and are hoping with the holiday season to get roughly 12 people working in the company. The positions they're hiring for are are paid out either as commission or hourly pay, whichever is greater. They do a lot of client testing to make sure they're a good fit before signing contracts with anyone.

The interviewer, Shannon is very nice, but you can tell she's done half a bazillion interviews over the phone and is running out of steam. =P
