Big Sky Marketing (Boise, ID)

Beware of attractive, but possibly deceptive job ads which offer entry-level training in management, marketing, and sales especially if the ads state "face to face" and "no experience required". If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid minimum wage or commission? Are there company benefits? Beware of invitations for an all-day second "interview".

Beware of invitations for an all-day second "interview". If you decide to go to the second "interview", wear comfortable shoes as you will be doing lots of walking trying to sell door-to-door.

Big Sky's Craigslist job ads (search "entry level") state they are currently working with the nation's third largest telecommunications company (Century Link). Big Sky does not identify itself in the Craigslist ads. Big Sky operates like other Cydcor affliates. Sky's reps would go door-to-door to sell Century Link services to business or residential customers.

  1. Great post, just wish i saw it before attending interviews with one of these jobs... On their ad it stated £250 a week plus commission... i asked during the second round interview (after going door to door all day) about the wages and was told that it was £250 a week and commission, so accepted the job and spent the week training with them. On my first day in the field i asked my team leader what day the wages would be paid in and he informed me that we were paid commission only and as such i would not be paid for my week spent training.. and that if i was to make sales that week i would not be paid the commission for another 2 weeks after that... needless to say i quit the job on the spot because i did not like how i was lied to in regards to the wages and was not prepared to work commission only.

  2. I just went to one interview and was asked to come back this afternoon. I decided to research the company because let's face it, it's not THAT easy...I'm glad I saw this post so I don't waste my time and pay for a sitter for the day. Thanks!
