Beware of attractive, but possibly deceptive job ads which offer entry-level training in management, marketing, and sales especially if the ads state "face to face" and "no experience required". If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid minimum wage or commission? Are there company benefits? Beware of invitations for an all-day second "interview".
Cydcor affiliates are job scams because of their deceptive job ads. Many recent college graduates are enthusiastic to accept the "sales and marketing" commission-only jobs, but many job seekers are only interested in a job with a real hourly wage or salary with real benefits (health insurance, etc), not a commission-only (performance based) job requiring lots of driving, lots of walking, and no benefits.
Linked-In Marketing, Cydcor corporate licensee, has no relation to LinkedIn.com. I would not be surprised if LinkedIn.com takes legal action with Linked-In Marketing to force a company name change. Linked-In Marketing shares the same office and telephone number as Simple Marketing Solutions, simplemarketingma.com. Sometimes you will find two to three Cydcor affiliates sharing the same office space or the same owner has changed company name two or three times which is not unusual.

The purpose of this blog is to inform job seekers of deceptive job advertisements, deceptive company websites, and deceptive company practices so they do not waste time and money (transportation costs) going to interviews for door-to-door commission only (or minimum wage plus commission) jobs which were not entirely disclosed on the job ads or during the job interviews.
went for an interview last Friday. Got a REALLY weird vibe immediately upon walking in. The whole floor the office was on was completely torn up/undergoing renovatioons, and there was only one guy in the tiny office, whose name was Colin. He was kind of sketchy. Whenever he mentioned clients he would always say "fortune 500 clients", as if he was worried I might think the company wasn't legit or something (which is indeed what I think). Save your time and gas money...don't bother with these chumps
ReplyDeleteAlso, what they'd have you doing (door to door sales) with NO base pay/salary to speak of whatsoever...and the sad excuse of a compensation plan far from compensates for this. If someone were to work there for an entire year (and I can't imagine anyone stays there longer than a few weeks) they'd probably be lucky to make 2,000-3,000 bucks. You can even find copies of their employee agreements online, which is laden with typos, grammatical errors, and contradictions. What company can't even hire a good lawyer to draft its legal documents? Also, the actual position has absolutely NOTHING to do with what they imply on their job postings. They imply that you'll be devising marketing strategies or be helping out from a managerial standpoint or something...can't say i totally blame them for doing this. After all, if they were completely up front about everything, nobody would waste their time on this joke of a company...and I strongly suggest you do not, either.
