The purpose of this blog is to inform job seekers of deceptive job advertisements, deceptive company websites, and deceptive company practices so they do not waste time and money (transportation costs) going to interviews for door-to-door commission only (or minimum wage plus commission) jobs which were not entirely disclosed on the job ads or during the job interviews.

Beware of attractive, but possibly deceptive job ads which offer entry-level training in management, marketing, and sales especially if the ads state "face to face" and "no experience required". If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid 100% commission? Are there company benefits?
Beware of invitations for an all-day second "interview". If you decide to go to the second "interview", wear comfortable shoes as you will be doing lots of walking trying to sell door-to-door.
Do you really want to sell AT&T services door-to-door wearing a suit everyday? Do you really want to work for 100% commission, 6-days a week, 10-hours a day, with no health insurance and no gas expense reimbursement? If you really want to work for an independently owned Cydcor affiliate office and work you way up to possibly manage or own another Cydcor office, there are Cydcor offices popping up all over the country.

I appreciate this review because it confirms the other 10 that I have read. I had an interview with them tomorrow morning but due to all of the bad, legit reviews I have seen I decided not to waste my time. I promptly cancelled it. I sent them a nice e-mail briefly explaining why I have no interest or want in being a part of their company. Thank you for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteI just got the call for an interview from them, too. They want to hire me, with no experience in what they do, as management. Screams scam
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments!!! You saved me from wasting my time and gas. My "interview" was scheduled for today which I promptly cancelled

DeleteLakeisha and Stephen, readers of this blog would love to know your interview experiences. Did you, or will you go to the famous second all-day interview? From what you have learned from the interview(s), are the glassdoor.com reviews accurate?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice.
ReplyDeleteI'm new here to the country and have no idea how the job recruitment process is like here.
I got a call from their HR department and they just asked if I would be interested in joining their management program so I got excited and whilst researching about the company i stumbled on this page (luckily).
I shall send them an email canceling my appointment for tomorrow. thanks for saving my time and gas.
well, i also have an interview for the management trainee position tomarrow morning.. and i am now questioning the legistics of this company, thanks for the heads up..
ReplyDeleteUsually I dont pay any mind to reviews, but i may start taking a gander at them for now on.
Yeah....They contacted me a few times and glad I told them no.....BS
ReplyDeleteCraziness..I too have an interview that was scheduled tomorrow- but after numerous reviews I have cancelled. I also called to confirm if the position requires door-to-door sales..AND IT DOES. I do live fairly close but at least I don't have to get up at 8:30 am tomorrow to meet with them!
ReplyDeleteWhen she called to set up interview, I ASK MANY QUESTIONS & RECEIVED VERY FEW ANSWERS.
ReplyDelete***Complete waste of time!!!!
