If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid minimum wage? Are there company benefits such as health insurance and paid time off?
Do you really want to be a product demonstrator/salesperson trying to get people to buy fudge, car wax, popcorn, cosmetics, or cheese cakes?
There is nothing wrong with working a retail job for a small independently owned company, but sure you get all the details about the job and company before you commit time and transportation costs. If the company requires you to have car for the job, it means you will be driving to different stores to demonstrate and sell.
