Vintage Consulting, Inc. (San Mateo, CA)

Beware of attractive, but possibly deceptive job ads which offer entry-level training in management, marketing, and sales especially if the ads state no experience required. If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid minimum wage or commission? Are there company benefits such as health insurance? Will you be required to use your car with no expense reimbursement on a daily basis to do your job

People who interview with Cydcor affiliates are told they have the opportunity to be trained for marketing, management, sales, public relations, advertising, human resources so they can open their own office. What the job seekers are not told is that they are trained to open new independently owned corporate licensee offices thus repeating the recruiting cycle.

Beware of invitations for an all-day second "interview". If you decide to go to the second "interview", wear comfortable shoes as you will be doing lots of walking trying to sell door-to-door.

  1. This company is indeed a "scam". I interviewed with the "CEO" Nick yesterday and he basically put it that it was face to face sales, instead of door to door.

What a joke! This company is run by Nick, his wife Brittany aka "HR", and his sister Chelsea.

Nick, your "business" is a joke. Way to feel important everyday by "suiting up" and running a phony office.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME unless your into walking around begging for business.

  2. I am going to agree completely with the above statement. This place is a complete joke. They lure you in with a great first interview and invite you back for a second. The second interview is actually a full work day (they call it shadowing) without pay. They don't even pay for your lunch.
The careers page on their website doesn't make any sense. It promises marketing education when they are actually selling office supplies door to door to unsuspecting businesses. They are no appointments made prior to their arrival. They do not reimburse for mileage, there is no base pay, and there are no benefits with the position. It is a shame that people feel this is the only way to get potential employers in their doors.

  3. This caught my eye on a career website - note half way down the page, they specify that candidates must be "really, really, really ridiculously good looking". http://www.careerrookie.com/jobs/-/j3f3nr75cdhmtnzc9rz?siteid=jujuppccr&job_did=j3f3nr75cdhmtnzc9rz

  4. Looks like they have moved their show to Florida. My son found a job ad for them on Craigslist. Today, he gets this check in the mail for over $2000 and he hasn't done any work for them. The check looks bogus and I told him not to cash it. I looked at their website to see if it was the same company as above and the names all match. The address is to an apartment building in Clearwater, FL.
