Demure Enterprise (Orange, CA)

Beware of attractive, but possibly deceptive job ads which offer entry-level training in management, marketing, and sales especially if the ads state no experience required. If you decide to interview with such a company, ask many questions before accepting employment. Will you be paid minimum wage or commission? Are there company benefits such as health insurance? Will you be required to use your car with no expense reimbursement on a daily basis to do your job?

Are you comfortable doing demonstration services inside of warehouse stores?

  1. This and many other companies are all scams under Smart Circle. They literally hire anyone and everything they tell you during interviews are all lies. You are stuck working long hours and making minimum wage forever. Don't believe them when they tell you salary increases as you move out on entry level. Very few people actually make it to the management position but it takes years not months like they say. Gas compensation doesn't even cover travel expenses. Be ready to spend the small amount of money you make on gas. Also boss is stupid, unorganized, and unprofessional. She always screws up the hours on pay checks and never fixes them. Don't waste your time and fall for this scam. I don't want other making the same stupid mistake I made.

  2. Demur is a state of art company. They have a great marketing plan/ strategies. I have adapted all of my marketing strategies from this profitable organization. It is unkind for one to speak viciously about an organization. Demur has done so much for me and my colleges. The benefits of Demur: They push us for success, flexible, and there is room for growth. The company itself is looking for motivated individuals. I am uncertain of ones affirmative opinion. However I may assure you Demur is a pleasant company to work for. Again everyone has their own opinion. I could only inform those of my direct interaction with this firm.

    1. Weird how you joined in February 2014 and your sentences make no sense.

  3. Sounds too familiar wish we had seen this earlier! Demure will work their employees like a sweatshop! Long hours ridiculous morning meetings and very unprofessional "management" staff. And yes, check your paycheck closely, they will try to get away with whatever they can. They promise to make it right......we have yet to see. Final check in 72 hours???? Haven't seen that yet either. Ever heard of FLSA??? Well you soon will.

  4. Listen, if you have a college degree from ANYWHERE, you can do much better. I was working there for a little under 5 months and looking back, I wish I could get that time back. Every opening in those job search websites are the same exact position, you're basically going to be selling some cheap knockoff product at a Sams Club or Costco. I can't say this company is a scam because technically, I didn't have to pay them anything, but its a HUGE deception. They are basically selling you this idea that you're going to make a ton of money in no time. Not true, this is how it actually works, they sell you the bullshit dream initially, you work with them for a while and, if they like you and you can sell their shitty products, they move you up to the next level (which is no better considering you're still making shit money), then its pretty much your turn to sell other people the shit dream until you have enough people under you to turn it into your own little branch...conceptually, I guess you could call this a pyramid scheme. The turnover rate is ridiculous, you're gonna make shit money, and you're gonna be overworked like crazy (I worked 12 hour shifts time to time). Commission is also shit, they make it sound like you get 20% of whatever you sell, but what they don't tell you is that the percentage you're making is split again among you and the other people you're working with. Ya, trust me, you're going to feel ripped off when it comes to that first paycheck.
Ok, now the products you sell. I'll keep this short and sweet. You're basically going to take a knockoff product and sell it for double the price of what the actual authentic product retails for. I almost felt bad for these shoppers considering that the better products were right there on the shelves for warehouse prices, and yet they still took the shitty product I was selling. Literally, I've seen variations of these products at swap meets and flea markets for pennies compared to what this company sells them for. Also, when they tell you the "normally its this price on the website, but we give you this many for this much lower price..." Ya that's bullshit too. Google clingsweep (one of the products they campaign) and see at the very bottom that the site was created from wordpress. FYI, wordpress is another blogging site like this one and pretty much anyone willing to make an account can create a page. So if they really wanted, they could hike that price up another 40 bucks and now people are saving even more money! The products are cheap, flimsy, and won't last you. Next time you see one of those products at sams club, ask if you can try it out and really USE it. I guarantee you, one of those flaws will make itself really apparent.
Anyways, like i said, you can do much better and I would really urge you to stay away from this one. Theres much more honest work out there and with a little more effort, you'll find it.

    1. Oh and I also want to mention, you're paycheck will never be given to you on time. Payday is monday, be expected to be paid maybe tuesday if you're lucky...most likely wednesday or thursday as long as youre crossing your fingers.
